Description
Areas you will cover in the seminar:
- Your development plan – you will go away with a list of your own areas of concerns. This will enable you to target your weaknesses before going for a standard check.
- Analysis of the standards check & part 3 exam marking form – what the examiner is looking for. This will help you to understand in `layman’s` terms the form clearly.
- Meanings of the 17 competencies – how each competency applies during lessons. You will get examples of situtions & incidents which will cover the 17 competencies.
- How to plan a lesson – you will discuss the listening skills & question/ answer technique to enable you to deliver the appropriate lesson for the pupil you are coaching.
- Managing risks safely – how to deal with risks proactively with examples of how it applies during driving lessons.
- Strategies to develop learning & your teaching style – you will learn about different teaching techniques which can be used to progress your pupil.
- Pupil`s learning styles – you will learn about the different ways pupils learn & how to target each style.
- Standards check criteria – you will learn how the dvsa decide when an instructor is due for a standards check.
- Continual professional development certificate – at the end of the session you will be provided with a certificate to prove you have done a training session to continually improve yourself. This can be shown to the dvsa examiner on your standards check.
- Perfect preparation prevents poor performance – by preparing thoroughly for your standards check, you will have the confidence to pass first time. It is a regular occurrence where adi’s & pdi’s go for tests unprepared and end up needing much more training.
- Testimonials – look at the testimonials of people who have attended the standard check & part 3 seminars. This is clear evidence that the training sessions help get a high-grade pass.
